Drying
Our simple drying system has three steps:
- Lifting flakes to the drying roof
- Flakes are placed in a bucket and lifted manually using a pulley system.
- Sun-drying the flakes
- Flakes are spread out on the drying roof and left to dry in the sun.
- During rainy seasons, flakes are dried in sheltered areas of our workshop.
- Bagging the dried flakes
- Once dry, flakes are swept into a discharge channel that runs perpendicular to the roof.
- Flakes are then bagged at the bottom of the channel for storage or processing.
This low-cost drying method makes use of natural sunlight and ensures that flakes are dry before further processing.
